We’re pleased to announce that we’ve just released our smart reporting functionality. Staying in the loop and keeping informed is now easier than ever.
Our new reporting functionality easily allows you to create your own customised reports to help you stay in touch with the comings and goings of your incidents, problems, changes, and releases. You can even get your reports emailed to you on a regular schedule.
We’ve even created a range of “canned” reports to get you going. See what’s happened in the last few days. See what incidents are stale. See what changes are due soon, but haven’t seen any action. The possibilities are endless.
To get access to the reports, on any Beetil type (our collective term for incidents, problems, changes or releases) simply go to the reports menu.
Creating a report is a breeze. Simply click on new report, and select the attributes you wish to report on. Beetil reports uses a natural query language so you can easily specify things like “created in the last 7 days”.

Once you are done adding your various search attributes, you can either run the report or save it for future use.
If you choose to save the report, you can give it a name and description and even choose to share it with others.
Once a report is saved, you can even get the report emailed to you on a scheduled basis. Simply click on “email schedule”, then set your desired schedule, and this report will be executed and emailed for the particular service (or global if you are in global view).
As if you didn’t already need reminding of stuff on your plate!! Seriously though, it’s a great way of keeping in check as to system activity, what’s hot, what’s stale, etc. You have no more excuses.
And you can also perform mass actions on reports, depending upon your privileges. This is particularly useful, for instance, for if staff go on holiday and if you need to mass re-assign.

We’ve had an awesome time developing the reports and are finding them better than gold-dust and we hope you have fun time playing with them.
If you have suggestions and feedback then, as ever, please get in touch via email, via the feedback tab, or on the good old dog n’ bone (+64 4 4980019)
